Submit Review
Lobuche East 6,119m/20,075ft
Pokalde 5,806m/19,048ft
Island Peak 6,189m/20,305ft Our Three Peaks Nepal Expedition provides an ideal progression and excellent introduction into Himalayan mountaineering. The expedition climbs a host of classic peaks at, or around 6,000m in a relatively short timeframe, allowing climbers to develop skills and learn about their own performance at altitude as they go. An achievable expedition for anyone new to climbing with a keen sense of adventure and desire to learn more about high-altitude mountaineering. This trip offers an opportunity to partake in a journey that covers a lot of terrain and enables you to make multiple ascents on peaks of moderate elevation. The journey has many visual highlights with stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks of Everest, Cho Oyu, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Ama Dablam and many, many more. Initially, we trek into the Khumbu to acclimatise and then we tackle Lobuche East. This ascent includes ideal terrain for refreshing basic skills and learning the art of fixed rope climbing. We move camp to the base of our next objective, Pokalde, which is straightforward and consolidates your skills. Island Peak is more technical than the initial two climbs, with more glaciated terrain to negotiate and steeper climbing with and slightly more exposure on the approach to the summit. The summit views are dramatic looking across the valley towards Ama Dablam and then to the southern wall of Lhotse and Nuptse. This lodge-and-camping-based trip allows you to enjoy the Nepalese culture while providing very achievable climbs for anyone in good shape with basic mountaineering skills and a desire for high adventure.
