DAY 1: ARRIVE IN KATHMANDU

Update with the expedition manager on the equipment carried. If necessary, the many mountain equipment shops in Thamel can help you complete your equipment. During this time, our local team is doing the necessary to complete the essential administrative formalities and the climbing permits.

DAY 3: KATHMANDU — BESISAHAR

DAY 7: AROUND BIMTHANG

access to the upper Nubri valley with the villages of Samdo and Sama has been via the Larkya Pass which is now regularly used by muleteers from both valleys. It is through this pass that our expedition equipment will pass. On our side, always to improve our acclimatization, we set up a bivouac just above Bimthang, at Larkya Phedi near a temporary teashop. A great way to find ourselves at altitude facing the Nemjung before crossing the Larkya. On the other side, we set up our camp between Dharamshala and Samdo

DAY 8: BIMTHANG — DHARAMSALA OR SAMDO

A tranquil descent to enjoy this high valley at the foot of Manaslu. During this time, the Nepalese team will have organized the transport of our equipment to the base camp using local porters. A special local rule that we respect by not using a helicopter, unlike many teams who even make the trip directly from Kathmandu.

DAY 9: DHARAMSALA OR SAMDO TO SAMA

A long climb that is difficult to achieve otherwise. The departure is early, the course above the lake is particularly aesthetic and our kitchen team is waiting for us directly at the base camp at 4,850 meters. Here we are “at home” for the mountaineering part of our journey at altitude.

DAY 10: SAMA — MANASLU BASE CAMP

[BASECAMP – ROTATION (CAMP I, CAMP II, TOUCH CAMP III) – BASECAMP]
For this ascent of Manaslu, we plan 5 altitude camps.

Camp 0.5: 5,400m

This intermediate camp is only for the first rotation and it is located roughly halfway between the base camp and camp 1 (5900 m). We sleep there one night before continuing to camp 1.

Camp 1: 5,900m

The walk to camp 1 from the BC is without difficulty, but it is long and its duration is reduced with acclimatization (from 7 hours to 5 hours).

The last part towards Camp 1 is a bit steeper. 
The route to Camp 1 involves climbing over grassy slopes, rock slabs and a moraine, followed by a crevassed glacier which is reached after an hour after leaving base camp. This is the time when you put on your crampons ( crampons point ), to climb occasional small glacial jumps to camp 1 at 5,900 meters. Depending on the season, there may be snow around base camp and below. The view of the surrounding peaks will add reference to the climb and

Leaving Namche, the path climbs above the houses to reach the ridge line. Passage of a small pass, then descent to the village of Khumjung. Superb view of the prince of the place, the Ama Dablam. Very nice day, a walk with beautiful views of the Himalayan range. We reach Tengboche, dominated by its gompa, a Buddhist monastery, which is a high place in Nepal. We are at the foot of Ama Dablam

We reserve this day for sightseeing in Kathmandu Valley and to prepare for trekking. After having a warm breakfast, we will leave the hotel in a private vehicle with an experienced tour guide. We will visit several UNESCO-listed world heritage sites in Kathmandu valley and the famous Swayambhunath stupa, and the Boudhanath stupa. These places are famous to have inherited ancient religious practices, architecture, and culture. But also make the last purchases if necessary and above all optimize the luggage in a mountaineering bag and a trekking bag.

DAY 2: PREPARE FOR TREKKING AND EXPLORE KATHMANDU VALLEY (1350M)

Either a morning transfer to Kathmandu airport or very early departure (around 4 am) for Ramechhap airport and breakfast organized on your arrival before your flight to Lukla. This visual flight, which can only be done in good weather conditions, offers a magnificent panorama of the  arrival in Lukla, the organization of the loads with the porters and the Sherpas then the start of the trek.

DAY 3: KATHMANDU - FLIGHT TO LUKLA (2850 M) - PHAKDING (2760 M)

We travel up the Dudh Khola River, with the magnificent Himalayan pines lining our route. Several bridges make us change banks according to the meanders of the river. Steep climb to the capital of Khumbu (Sherpa country). On the way, we admire the Thamserku and from time to time we see Everest. In Namche Bazaar, visit the village, very picturesque. You can walk the alleys of this village built in an amphitheater.

DAY 4: TREKKING FROM PHAKDING TO NAMCHE BAZAR

We climb in a small forest and admire for the first time the high peaks of Khumbu (Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam), we arrive in the villages of Kunde and Khumjung. It may be possible to visit the “Hillary High School” and the Kunde hospital built on Hillary's initiative.

DAY 5: HIKING NAMCHE — KHUMJUNG — NAMCHE

A long stage that familiarizes your body with the altitude. The route offers an almost permanent view of the Ama Dablam but also the Thamserku while climbing steadily. We pass Pangboche, which was until the arrival of tourism one of the last permanently inhabited high-altitude villages. Many Pangboche villagers have gone on expeditions to the highest peaks and Everest. Porters, then altitude sherpas, and finally guides for those who have realized their dream. The village also paid a heavy price to the mountain. You enter the heart of the upper Khumbu, and the landscape becomes more mineral. Dingboche (4400m) marks the intersection of the Chukhung and Everest valleys.

DAY 7: TREKKING FROM TANGBOCHE TO PANGBOCHE (3,960 M)

We branch off towards the base camp of Ama Dablam. The camp is very nice with a nice flat surface. The view of Ama Dablam is breathtaking!

DAY 8: TREKKING FROM PANGBOCHE — AMA DABLAM BASE CAMP ( 4,600M)

In the next 15 days, we focus on acclimatization, rest, and establishing high-altitude camps for the summit ascent.

The route from base camp to high camp (5400m) follows a ridgeline with a gentle slope.

From high camp to Camp 1 (5800m), we navigate large rocks, with Camp 1 above a slippery slab.

Camp 1 to Camp 2 (6000m) involves traversing a horizontal ridge, culminating in the "yellow tower."

 Camp 3 (6300m), we tackle steep snow/ice sections and the gray tower. (only if need we set camp 3)

Finally, Camp 2/Camp 3 to the summit (6856m) presents steep snow slopes and a breathtaking view of peaks, including Everest, Kangchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.

DAY 9To 23: AMA DABLUM ASCENT

We leave the base camp and reach the main valley at Pangboche. We retrieve the main route that leads us to Namche
We soon taste the gentle warmth of the low valleys descending the forested gorges of the Dudh Khosi, crossing the villages of Monjo and Phakding, before going back to Lukla where we thank the team of porters. We will spend our last evening in the heart of Khumbu.

DAY 24 and 25 : TREKKING FROM BASE CAMP - TENGBOCHE TO NAMCHEE BAZAR (3440M) LUKLA (2850 M)

Early in the morning, the atmosphere at Lukla airport is often effervescent. A small plane takes us back to Kathmandu (subject to weather conditions) where we find our hotel in the city center. Free time so that everyone can discover the city at their leisure

Have breakfast and then you have the whole day to explore the best Kathmandu Sightseeing spots with your guide. You can visit and explore one of the most famous Shiva temples, Pashupatinath, recognized as the monkey temple; Swyambhunath, the largest Stupa in the world, also called Boudhanath Stupa; and finally the Royal Palace, Kathmandu Durbar Square. The next day, you will begin your trek on the Annapurna Circuit, so you have to check your equipment to make sure that you are ready for your adventure and climb. Have dinner and stay overnight in the same hotel in Kathmandu

DRIVE FROM KATHMANDU TO KOTO (2600 M)

We leave the classic route of the Annapurnas tour to follow the course of the Naar Phu Khola to discover the high valleys of Naar and Phu, which opened to tourism ten years ago. Stage of gradual ascent through beautiful coniferous forests. Beautiful south-facing views of the Lamjung Himal. After a good hour of walking, we cross a small torrent, then the path straightens sharply for the last hour, before reaching the village of Meta where the inhabitants of Naar live during the winter months. The Khampa warriors, originally from Kham (eastern Tibet), settled in Metha after the Chinese invasion of Tibet in 1959, before being driven out in 1975 during a Nepalese military intervention. From their passage, there remain some ruins of an old fort, above the village.

TREKKING FROM KOTO TO META (3550M)

Panorama on Pisang Peak (6092 m), Kang Guru (6990 m), Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II. Continuation of the walk until Jhunum (3695 m), where we cross two torrents. The steep path climbs to the village of Chyakhu.

TREKKING FROM META (3550M) TO CHYAKU (3880M)

The terrain softens, and a pleasant path leads us to the Khampa hamlet of Kyang. The inhabitants of the alpine hamlet of Phu come to shelter there in winter. Along the way, a clear view of Annapurna II and IV, the northern Kang Guru glacier and the Juna Himal. We continue hiking on a superb path carved into the rock, then we descend to the waters of the Phu Khola, which we follow for some time. We have to gain altitude again to reach the village barrier and, beyond, the village of Phu itself. Wide view of the summit of Kang Guru (6981 m), the Juna Himal to the east. The habitat here is typically Tibetan. Beyond, the valley continues towards Tibet and the high peaks of Peri Himal (Himlung and Ratna Chuli).

TREKKING FROM CHYAKU (3880M) TO PHU (4100M)

The rest day is essential to acclimatize. Two nights at 4000 meters altitude will not be too much to acclimatize for the climb to the Himlung base camp (4900 m). It is also an opportunity to take time in the most isolated village of this region. To the north, no obvious access to Tibet; to the south, the path has long been complicated. The people of Phu were cut off from the world. The architecture of the village bears witness to this relative isolation: we can still clearly see the old fortifications erected on a rocky outcrop. The monastery is run by a nun. Its visit is not essential, however, the point of view is worth the detour

ACCLIMATIZATION DAY IN PHU

From Phu, a few hours of walking make it possible to reach, by undulating slopes and moraines, the base camp Kari Kobler at 4900 meters. It is the new official Himlung base camp and is located on the left bank of the Pangri Glacier. We will do this stage of 800 meters of elevation gain in two days to optimize our  the conditions are favorable, we will make our base camp at the French camp which is located on the right bank of the glacier. This camp allows you to avoid making tedious round trips on the glacier to acclimatize and reach the summit. In this case, we will therefore have to cross the glacier and climb the moraine opposite to settle in (1 to 2 hours of additional walking).

Day 8- 10: PHU (4100 M) - HIMLUNG BASE CAMP (4925 M)

Summit Plan:
Our strategy involves 1-2 rotations between Base Camp, Camp 1, and Camp 2, weather permitting. The final summit push originates from Camp 2. Camp 3 is an alternative, considered only for safety based on thorough assessments.

Base Camp to Camp 1 (5430m):
Situated at 4900m for safety, our base camp is strategically positioned. The route to Camp 1 involves a 3-4 hour climb through glaciers and moraines, with minimal avalanche risk.

Camp 1 to Camp 2 (5400m-6200m):
This segment includes traversing a scree slope and negotiating the glacier. The guide team ensures safety with fixed ropes on steeper sections, addressing minimal avalanche risk at Camp 2.

Camp 2 to Summit (7126m):
The climb to the summit involves a challenging 1100m ascent on a steep ridge. Guides use ropes for safety. After reaching the top, the descent includes returning to Camp 1 and then back to Base Camp for celebration and departure to Kathmandu.

DAY 11 - 25 HIMLUNG HIMAL EXPEDITION

We follow the path taken in the ascent to Koto and end with a day of the transfer to Kathmandu. This time we take a Jeep from Koto to save time; so the Jeep ride is a bit longer

DAY26 - 30 RETURN TO PHU, KOTO, THEN KATHMANDU

TREKKING FROM PHORTSE TO DINGBOCHE (4400 M)

Today, you begin trekking early in the morning. The trail is tougher than other days. You have to ascend through a rocky moraine and glacier path. The trail will lead you to Gorak Shep, and further moves to Everest Base Camp. After spending some time at the EBC, you trek back to Gorak Shep for a night stay.

HIKE NAMCHE – KHUMJUNG- NAMCHE

A short day dedicated to acclimatization where the main thing is to control your speed and enjoy the spectacle that surrounds you. Between Ama Dablam (6856m), the south face of Lhotse (8516m) and Baruntse (7129m), the landscapes are spectacular before reaching Chhukhung (4730m), the last village before Island Peak base camp. Then we go down to Dingboche.

DINGBOCHE - CHHUKHUNG (4730M) - DINGBOCHE (4410M)

A mountain pasture rises gently to the Thukla ridge, at the foot of Lobuche Peak. A final steep climb takes you to Lobuche. In front of you, Nuptse, Pumori, and Langtren raise their sparkling peaks

TREKKING FROM DINGBOCHE TO LOBUCHE (4930 M)

EARLY IN THE MORNING, YOU ASCEND TO KALA PATTHAR, which is a very famous vantage point in the Everest region. From here, you can see a glorious sunrise and 360-degree views of the Himalayan Mountains. Today, the trail moves towards the High Camp via Lobuche Base Camp. The trail to the base camps is steep and rocky. From here, you move to the Lobuche Glacier enjoying great views of Cholatse, Pokalde, Thamserku, Ama Dablam, and Kantega. Further, trekking on a rocky moraine, you reach High Camp. Your guide gives pre-climbing training here. He teaches you the proper uses of gears like ice-ax, crampons, climbing boots, ascender, harness, etc.

GORAK SHEP TO KALA PATTHAR AND BACK TO LOBUCHE HIGH CAMP

You begin ascending towards the summit around 12 to 1 AM in midnight to reach the summit before the afternoon. You must reach the summit before noon because in the afternoon the strong winds in the highlands become a barrier to a successful summit. The guide fix the rope wherever it is needed and helps you reach the summit. From the top, you get to see a surreal landscape view. After spending some time at the top, you gradually descend to the PHERICHEP village for a night stay.

LOBUCHE HIGH CAMP TO SUMMIT AND BACK TO PHERICHEP  (4200M)

We lose altitude and find more populated lands. The descent takes place on the sunny side of the valley, facing Ama Dablam and the duo Thamserku and Kantega. Mani and chortens again punctuate the path. We cross two important villages, Pheriche and Panboche. In the latter, nestled in the middle of pines and junipers, a monastery shelters a curiosity: the scalp of a yeti... We continue our descent towards the bottom of the valley, carpeted with pines and rhododendrons, haven of a small Himalayan ungulate, the musk deer, before going up to the monastery of Tengboche. Founded in 1919, it is perched on a spur, a perfect belvedere over Ama Dablam and the great wall of Nuptse and Lhotse. Rapid descent in a beautiful forest. Crossing a footbridge at Phunki, before a slow ascent then a balcony path leading to Namche Bazar.

TREKKING FROM PHERICHEP TO NAMCHE BAZAR (3400 M)

We soon taste the gentle warmth of the lower valleys as we descend the wooded gorges of the Dudh Khosi before going back up to Lukla where we thank the team of porters. We spend our last evening in the heart of Khumbu.

TREKKING FROM NAMCHE TO LUKLA (2800M)

As for the outward journey, flight from Lukla airport is directly in the direction of Kathmandu; or for Ramechhap airport with a transfer to Kathmandu. If direct flight to Kathmandu, free day in Kathmandu. If a flight to Ramechhap, transfer and arrival in Kathmandu in the early afternoon.
In Kathmandu, explore the dynamic district of Thamel, and its colorful bazaars, ideal place to do your last shopping. In the Kathmandu Valley, the traditional village of Bhaktapur will amaze you with its 17th-century architecture.
NOTE: The flight is subject to the vagaries of the weather, a delay in the day of rotation is possible. If the flight is postponed to the next day, you will spend an additional night at the lodge in Lukla.
