Day 4:Udzungwa Mountain National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, we leave Ruaha and drive east heading in the direction of the Udungwa Mountains, a small location that supports one of the highest diversity of primates and birds in all of Tanzania. En route we enjoy our lunch box, before reaching our destination in the late afternoon. Apart from the bird life, this mountainous park is also famous for its primates and waterfalls.

Day 5:Udzungwa Mountain National Park

After breakfast, we break camp and head north east towards Saadan National Park, located on the coast 100km north of Dar es Salaam. We stop on the way to enjoy our lunch box before finally arriving in the late afternoon at our destination.

Day 6:Saadani National Park

After breakfast, we set off for a full day drive in Saadan National Park, the only park in Tanzania that combines the eco-system of the aquatic marine environment of the Indian Ocean with the adjacent terrestrial systems. The combination of these two systems provides a unique opportunity to see mammals and birds together within the same drive. Also other mammals including predators can be observed without too much trouble. At the same time, Madette Beach is a breeding site for the green turtles while spectacular birds such as the cuckoo hawk, African skimmer, greater flamingo, lanner falcon and pels fishing owl are easily spotted. At the end of the day, relax and dine beside the Indian Ocean before overnighting.

Day 7: Saadani National Park

– After a leisurely breakfast, we stay in the coastal area and drive north to the Amani Nature Reserve, part of the East Usambara Mountains in the Tanga region. We enjoy our lunch box overlooking the Indian Ocean, before arriving at our destination in time for dinner.

Day 8:Amani Nature reserve

After planning for a late breakfast, we set out for an early bird watching drive which encompasses the natural forest areas, higher and lower, where we expect to observe the different species of birds related to the nearby tea plantations and coffee farms as well as endemic birds found in the forest itself. We can be expected to see endemic birds such as the nduk fish owl, amani sunbird, banded green sunbird as well as the green headed oriole. We return to camp late in the morning for brunch, before resting and reviewing out photos and heading out in the early evening again for a further drive before dark.

Day 9:Amani Nature reserve

After a leisurely breakfast and carrying our packed lunch, we leave the forest area of the Amani Reserve and set off for the drier grasslands of the Mkomazi National Park(home of black rhinos) close to the Kenyan border. We enjoy our lunch box on the way and arrive at our destination in the middle of the afternoon.

Day 10:Mkomanzi National Park

– Before breakfast, we head out for an early morning “birding” drive arriving back at the camp for breakfast. Mkomazi is the habitat of the “Northern Dry Specials” such as the shelley’s starling, three streaked tchagra and the vulturine guinea fowl. Other grassland birds such as hornbills, secretary birds, kori bustards and ostrich are easily seen. We enjoy a hot lunch and rest in the camp, heading out before dark for another drive before returning for dinner.

Day 11:Mkomanzi National park

The small pond is surrounded by palm and fig trees with winding roots. In the morning, Blue Monkeys can often be observed in the trees, whilst the crystal clear, turquoise water invites you to a refreshing bath. Although they are called hot springs, the water in Kikuletwa is not truly ‘hot’ but refreshing, as the water source is fed by Kilimanjaro itself.

Day 12: Visiting at Kikuletwa hot spring

after breakfast, and head west with our packed lunch in the direction of Arusha National Park. We continue past Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest peak in Africa, until we arrive at Arusha National Park in the late afternoon. Apart from its rich and diverse wildlife population, the park is also the starting point for the climb of Mt. Meru, one of the most popular ascents after Kilimanjaro. We arrive in time for a little bit of rest and recuperation before we enjoy our hot evening meal.

Day 13:Arusha National park

- After an early breakfast, we take our packed lunchbox and proceed through Arusha in the direction of Tarangire National Park. A strategic detour and stop over from the route offers us the possibility of interacting with some of the “plains birds” such as larks and cisticolas among many others on the Masaai Steppe, before finally arriving at Tarangire National Park. Cut into two parts by the Tarangire River, it has water all year around, and subsequently supports a large population of birds and animals. We enjoy our lunch box at Matete picnic site and proceed ahead with a late afternoon drive among the thousand years old baobab trees and numerous elephants and other wildlife and birds.

Day 14 :Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, we leave  early, carrying our picnic lunch, and head for Lake Manyara , a pristine soda lake within the confines of the Rift Valley. The lake, together with the surrounding environs form Lake Manyara National Park. The area is privileged to have multiple habitats including the soda lake, ground water forest, alluvial plains, marshland and swamps, all together providing a diverse habitat for over 400 bird species and animals, all in relative close proximity. We lunch at the ‘hot water’ picnic site and then proceed with our “birding drive” along a lake shore tinged pink with flamingos and other aquatic birds. In the “hippo pool” pelicans and cormorants can be found swimming amongst wallowing hippos while a profusion of colourful birds such as sunbirds, starlings, bee-eaters and rollers inhabit the ground water forest. Ornithologists have recorded sightings of over 100 different bird species in one day.

Day 15:Lake Manyara National Park

- After breakfast we will descend On the bare grounds or sand tracks in the Ngorongor Crater you can see nests of Ostiches, Kori bustards, Secretary birds, Grey crowned Cranes, the ground nestling Northern Anteater Chat, Rufous-napped Lark, Capped Whater, Fischer's Sparrow lark, Red capped Lark and the Grassland Pipit. The tree nestling birds of the Ngorongoro Crater are the Superb Starling, Rufous Tailed Weaver and the African White backed Vulture. The Ngorongoro Crater is also inhabited by birds of prey such as: the Augur buzzard and the Long-crested eagle.
The soda lakes of Ngorongoro are the breeding grounds of thousands of flamingoes and other water birds such as ducks, waders and herons

After breakfast, we drive via the western corridor of the Serengeti heading in the direction of Lake Victoria, the second largest fresh water lake in the world. You will enjoy a packed lunch under the acacia trees on route, before exiting the park, finally arriving at Mwanza on the shore of Lake Victoria in the late afternoon. .

Day 19:Serengeti to Lake victoria(Mwanza)

-Leaving our overnight lodging, we proceed along the shore of Lake Victoria, stopping for lunch on the way, arriving in Kasenda, before transiting by boat to Rubondo Island. We can now notice the different aquatic bird species with lake shore birds and bottom feeders much in evidence. A short drive across the island through Rubondo National Park will take us to our final destination.

Day 20:Rubondo Island National Park

After breakfast, a morning game drive across “ Rubondo National Park”, is rewarded by the close up presence of animals such as elephant, giraffe, antelopes and the beautiful black and white colobus monkeys. Chimpanzees are also often seen. The majority of the day is however spent at the lake shore where a large percentage of the prolific bird population such as African fish eagles and other raptors hunting tilapia can be easily spotted amongst the resident aquatic birds. We return to the camp for lunch, and after a small rest we continue our drive in the late afternoon before returning for dinner.

Day 21:Rubondo Island National park

–After breakfast, we leave accompanied by a park ranger to visit the “Chimp Habituation Program” where we can observe our closest surviving relatives, living in their natural environment. Terrestrial birds are in evidence in the forest environment. We return to the rest house for a hot lunch and the afternoon is free for you to choose and enjoy the lake shore activities or just simply relax and reflect on the tranquility and uniqueness of your surroundings.

Day 22:Rubondo Island National Park

Another day to enjoy this special location. We set out early morning for a fishing safari on the lake. You will have the opportunity to catch the famous “Nile Perch”, one of the biggest game fish in Africa while at the same time watching the interaction of the fish eagles and other birds within the lake. After a morning on the water, we return to our camp for lunch and then the afternoon is free for relaxation. We all meet up again for dinner, where our fish is cooked and enjoy a cocktail party with our colleagues and friends made during our adventure.

Our tour sets off after breakfast, with the first stop being the town of Arusha for some last minute purchases, before we head off on an exciting safari experience… We will travel towards the Tarangire National Park, where we stop for lunch and afterwards, our first game drive of the safari! Tarangire National Park is well known for its huge elephant population and baobab trees. It forms the centre of the annual migratory cycle that includes up to 3000 elephant, 25,000 wildebeest and 30,000 zebra. Accommodation: Tarangire Simba Lodge or similar.

Day 2 Arusha Town - Tarangire NP

After breakfast, We head towards Lake Manyara National Park for an early morning game drive. The spectacular national park is located at the north-western corner of Lake Manyara, a hallow soda lake, which lies at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. Manyara NP is not only known for its large flocks of flamingos, but also for the elusive tree climbing lions. Accommodation: Karatu Simba Lodge or Similar.

Day 3 Tarangire NP - Lake Manyara NP

Our journey starts shortly after breakfast with a scenic drive up the Rift Valley escarpment to Serengeti National Park. You will be crossing Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority and we make a brief stop at Olduvai Gorge and the museum (Option) which documents the discovery of 1.8 million year old human-like fossils. Thereafter we head for the Serengeti National Park, game driving along the way to the lodge. Accommodation: Serengeti Simba Lodge or similar.

Day 4 Lake Manyara NP - Serengeti NP

An early start sees us heading out after breakfast for a game drive in the magnificent Serengeti National Park. With a picnic lunch provided, we will go ahead with game drives throughout the afternoon in the endless plains spotting many animals and truly realizing just why this National Park is so famous. In the late afternoon we drive back to the lodge for an overnight. Accommodation: Serengeti Simba Lodge or similar.

Day 5 Serengeti National Park

Enjoy a full day of game viewing in the Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is renowned for its annual wildebeest migration and large predator population. From February to May, a herd of over a million wildebeest (gnu) migrate for the Western Corridor of the park, in search of greener pastures. The Serengeti’s other animal attractions include lion, leopard, zebra, Thompson gazelle, impala, Grant’s gazelle and buffalo. Most of the park is open swathes of grassland, broken by isolated granite kopjes (hills) and patches of acacias woodlands. Accommodation: Serengeti Simba Lodge or similar.

Day 6 Serengeti National Park

We take an early breakfast at the camp and then head to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater. On arrival we go through the registration process and descend to the floor of the world’s largest unbroken caldera for the most wonderful day of game viewing. We will have lunch at the designated picnic site at the side of the hippo pool and continue with a game drive as we drive up the crater rim for overnight. Accommodation: Karatu Lodge or similar.

Day 7 Serengeti NP - Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast we explore the colourful town of Mto-wa-Mbu for some last minute pictures and curio shopping. Afterwards we head to Arusha where the tour will end at our offices. We hope to welcome you again on one of our African adventures!

Day 1: Tarangire Natinal Park
>>> You'll depart from Arusha You will be picked up in the morning and after a short briefing, you will head off in the direction of Tarangire National Park. The park, with its savannah, baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, is home to huge elephant herds. Animals gather at the life-giving Tarangire River and you should see a selection of mammals ranging from giraffe, bushbuck and hartebeest to zebra and warthog. The park is also home to buffalo, zebra and wildebeest, which are always closely followed by a range of predators such as lions. Leopards are seen now and then, but cheetahs are rarely spotted. From the open roof of the safari vehicle, you will be able to absorb the landscape and watch the animals. The Serengeti National Park is the largest park in Tanzania, with a diversity of landscapes and habitats. It includes grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah and mountains. Here, the biggest wildebeest and zebra migration takes place and depending on the season, you will have the opportunity to witness thousands of animals in their search for nourishment. You will spend the night in the Seronera area in Central Serengeti at the campsite.

We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti’s species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Dinner and overnight at a camp.

>>> Early in the morning, you will head down the forested slopes into the crater on a steep and narrow path. The crater floor is covered in open grassland with the occasional acacia tree and two small wooded areas. Teeming with wildlife, you will be able to see many animals in a short period of time. You might even be able to tick the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard – off your list. Other animals present in the crater area include wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, warthog, hippo and more than 500 species of birds. You will spend the entire morning exploring the park. After a picnic lunch in the crater, you will return to Mto Wa Mbu where you will arrive by early evening for dinner and overnight at Kizumba campsite.

>>> Today, you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This small park is a paradise for both serious and amateur bird-lovers, as this small park is home to over 400 species of birds, including flamingos, pelicans, storks and cormorants. Many mammals, such as bushbuck, waterbuck, wildebeest, zebra, baboon, monkey, lion and leopard can be seen roaming the forest and the acacia-dotted plains of the park. You will have an unhindered view of the surroundings as the safari vehicle’s roof can open up to allow you the best angle for photography. After an extensive game drive in the park, you will leave the park in the afternoon. You will arrive in Arusha at around 5 PM.

Days 5: Manyara and Back To Arusha

After breakfast, you'll depart from your Arusha or Moshi accommodations and drive to Arusha National park. After your entrance to the park you will embark on a game drive through the park. Your drive will pass you past park landmarks such as the Momella Lakes and Ngurdoto Crater - sometimes known as 'Little Ngorongoro'. Also, your Safari Vehicle will go under the Fig tree (Ficus thonningii) whose roots have grown to take the shape of an arch, large enough for a Safari car (elephant size) to pass underneath you may stop get out of the car and take pictures. During lunch you will stop at a picnic site where you will have your lunch there after proceed with the game drive. At around four you will start leaving the National park for Arusha where you will spend the night!

You'll depart from Arusha after breakfast for the drive to Lake Manyara National Park. The journey takes approximately two hours, but we'll pass through the market town of Mto Wa Mbu along the way. This agricultural and fresh produce market is a melting pot of local cultures and a souvenir hunter's paradise. After a brief stop at the village market, you'll enter Lake Manyara National Park. The park is truly a photographer's playground and offers some of the best game viewing in the world. You can expect to see many of Africa's most well-known animals, with the tree-climbing lions a particular treat. These proud predators lounge in acacia trees practically begging to be photographed. Bird-watchers will find Lake Manyara is an absolute delight, with a huge variety of birds on display in the park. After breakfast, descend into the crater with lunch box enjoying the game drive for more than six hours. The Ngorongoro Crater is one of the most densely crowded African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals including some of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhino. Supported by a year round water supply and fodder, the crater supports a vast variety of animals, which include herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, and giant African elephants. Another big draw card to this picturesque national park is its huge population of predators, which include lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard crater floor After a picnic lunch you will have a game drive there after in the late afternoon you will drive back to Arusha Town.
