Itinerary
Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp
Meet your guide and porters at your hotel and transfer to Londorossi Gate for registration.
Begin your trek through lush rainforest, enjoying the sights and sounds of the diverse flora and fauna.
Arrive at Mti Mkubwa Camp, your first overnight stop, and settle in for the night.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp
Continue your ascent through the rainforest, with the vegetation gradually thinning out as you gain altitude.
Enter the heath and moorland zone, where you'll enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
Reach Shira 1 Camp, situated on a plateau beneath the towering peaks of Kilimanjaro, for overnight stay.
Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Ascend further through the heath and moorland, with expansive views of the Shira Plateau.
Arrive at Shira 2 Camp, where you'll spend the night and continue acclimatizing to the altitude.
Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
Ascend to Lava Tower for acclimatization, enjoying panoramic views of the surrounding glaciers.
Descend to Barranco Camp via the scenic Barranco Wall, a challenging yet exhilarating climb.
Spend the night at Barranco Camp, nestled in a valley beneath the towering cliffs.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Traverse the Barranco Valley, known for its unique flora and geological features.
Ascend the Karanga Valley, with stunning views of the southern glaciers of Kilimanjaro.
Reach Karanga Camp, situated on a rocky ridge, for overnight stay.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp and Summit Day
Ascend to Barafu Camp, the high camp for the summit attempt.
Rest and prepare for the summit push ahead.
In the evening, begin the summit attempt, ascending steeply to Uhuru Peak (5,895m/19,341ft) and then descending back to Barafu Camp.
Spend the night at Barafu Camp or proceed with a descent to Mweka Camp depending on timing and preference.
