Everest Three Pass Trek is one of the delightful and high adventure destinations in the Everest region of Nepal. It's a great adventure that leads to the all best and most scenic high areas of Khumbu in the shade of mighty Mt. Everest and range of giant peaks, which will be at the constant range during these amazing walks, enclosed with mountains away from the main walking trails and villages. Everest 3 Passes Trek, an adventure that leads you to cross and traverse from one scenic spot to another beautiful area from Imjatse to Gokyo valley and completing at the sleepy village of Thame within a great scenic valley west of Khumbu.
Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu with transfer to the hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu international airport get transferred to hotels after received by our guides and staff, at hotel check-in and join in for group briefing regarding treks and other useful information, with welcome dinner.
Day 02: Flight to Lukla 2,820 m and trek to Phakding 2,657 m – 04 hrs.
Morning fly to Lukla with grand views of Himalayan peaks during 35 mins flight with Everest on reaching at Lukla with time to refresh, then continue walking on a gradual trail with few ups and down past Sherpa village to reach at Phakding for an overnight stay.
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar 3,440 m – 06 hrs.
The morning starts on the gradual trail following the Dudh Kosi River upstream to reach at Monjo and Sagarmatha National Park entrance, from here on river valley within a forested area, then with a climb for few hours to reach at famous Namche Bazaar for two nights stop.
Day 04: In Namche for rest to support acclimatization with a short hike and excursion.
Namche is a perfect spot and height for rest days to support acclimatization, where one can take a high up at scenic viewpoint facing Everest-Lhotse-Nuptse-Amadablam and other range of mountains, walking high resting and sleeping helps to acclimatize better before heading highest areas.
Day 05: Trek to Thyangboche 3,867 m – 05 hrs.
From Namche heading up and on a winding trail downhill to a river and then uphill walks for a few hours within serene alpine woodland to reach at scenic Thyangboche Monastery, surrounded by a series of peaks with views of Everest and Amadablam, an overnight stop at Thyangboche with time visit its monastery of great interest.
Day 06: Trek to Dingboche 4,365 m – 05 hrs.
Morning with grand views of peaks then downhill to a river, after crossing a bridge with a slow climb towards Pangboche village with close views of Amadablam peak, the walk continues to reach a scenic Imjatse Valley where our overnight stops at Dingboche located with views of Amadablam and Island peaks.
Day 07: Another rest day at Dingboche for acclimatization and local hike.
Another lovely and scenic spot for a rest day to get acclimatize where one can take a short hike up at Nakarjung hilltop, for excellent views of mountains facing Imjatse and Dingboche below, after at leisure and rest marvel the grand views of the mountains.
Day 08: Trek to Chhukung 4,750m – 04 hrs.
From Dingboche, a short day walks to Chhukung heading east the last settlement of Khumbu, at Chhukung afternoon free or hike to Chhukung Ri for more super views of the mountains and preparation for next early morning adventure towards Kongma-la pass.
Day 09: Trek to Kongmo-la 5,535m and to Lobuche 4,890 m – 08 hrs.
After Chhukung, the adventure starts crossing the first high pass with an early morning climb uphill for an hour leading over icy path, here onwards on a rocky trail to Kongma-la, close to Kongma or Mehra peak, after rest cross Kongma-la pass located between Mt. Nuptse, Mehara and Pokalde peaks, after a tough climb walk towards Khumbu glacier with a short steep climb up at terminal debris of Khumbu Glacier to Lobuche for an overnight stop and in the comfort of the nice lodge after great Big Day walk.
Day 10: Trek to Everest Base Camp 5,365 m and back to Gorakshep 5,180 m – 06 hrs.
After the Lobuche walk, today takes you to our highlight at Everest base camp, as our route leads with slow uphill and above Khumbu glacier and moraine to reach a flat field at Gorakshep a place with few nice lodges.
From Gorakshep continue to walk toward the east to reach Everest base camp, on reaching our target enjoy views of giant peaks with Khumbu Ice-Fall and glaciers, and then walk back to Gorakshep for an overnight stop.
Day 11: Morning climb on top Kalapathar 5,545 m walk to Dzongla 3, 830 m- 05 hrs.
Early morning take a hike on the steep uphill to reach on top of Kalapathar at above 5,545 m, the highest point of the adventure facing wonderful views of the mountain range with Everest and Pumori at close distance.
From here descend to Gorakshep and walk downhill to Lobuche, walking above Thugla to reach at Dzongla a small settlement located beneath Cho-la Pass for an overnight stop.
Day 12: Crossover Cho (Tsho)-la pass 5,367m down to Thanknak 4,750m – 07 hours.
Second High Pass of the adventure to cross over Cho-la pass after an early breakfast climb on a steep path to reach the top of Cho-la and then crossing over a glacier on the east side.
The pass is quite challenging to cross in snow conditions, from the top descend carefully to Thanknak for an overnight stop at a small isolated spot with few small lodges.
Day 13: Trek to Gokyo 4,750 m – 04 hrs.
After a great crossing, morning on an easy trail to Gokyo walking beneath Ngozumba glacier, slowly heading at first lake and second lakes of Gokyo and then reaching a third lake also called Dudh Pokhari near the bank where summer settlement of Gokyo located.
Day 14: At Gokyo hike to Gokyo-Ri 5,357m.
The morning hike to Gokyo Ri at 5,357m is one of the highlights of this adventure with a panorama of the world’s highest mountains Mt. Cho Oyo, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Cholatse, Taweche, and to the east views of Mt. Makalu.
After a great exciting time descend back to Gokyo for lunch with the afternoon free to enjoy the surrounding beautiful views.
Day 15: Cross Renjo-la 5360m/17585ft, and descend to Lungden 4,600 m – 06 hrs.
The last crossing of the adventure crossing over Renjo-la, the early morning climb leads to the end of Gokyo Lake, facing views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cholatse, and Taboche, and then cross Renjo La pass, on reaching at the top panorama of Mt. Cho-Oyu and other high peaks, after enjoying views downhill to a small settlement at Lungden for overnight stop located on-route Nangpa-la pass to Tibet.
Day 16: Trek to Thame 3,800 m – 05 hours.
After completing all three great high passes of Khumbu within Everest, morning walk downhill to Marlung village, and continue to the sleepy and quiet village at Thame located west of Namche Bazaar, at Thame with time to visit its old monastery believed to be of more than 500 years old.
Day 17: Trek to Namche Bazaar – 05 hrs.
An easy walk today heading back into tree lines with views of Kwangde peaks all the way to Namche, walk leads past nice Thamo village with small Hydro station above Bhote Kosi River which supplies electric power to Khumbu villages, from Thamo few hours of good walk reaching Namche for last overnight stop before Lukla.
Day 18: Trek to Lukla – 06 hrs.
Today a long walk to reach our last stop in the Khumbu area at Lukla, from Namche on the downhill to a river with a short climb to Monjo and then on a good trail to Phakding village, where a few hours walk from here reaches you at Lukla for final overnight stop within Everest and Khumbu area.
Day 19: Fly back to Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel with a free afternoon at leisure.
Morning as per your flight time transfer to the Tenzing-Hillary air terminal in Lukla, boarding in a smaller aircraft for the scenic flight back to Kathmandu and then to your hotel, after a most amazing time on Everest base camp trekking.
Day 20: Final departure from Kathmandu homeward bound or to respective destinations.
Last day in the land of Himalayan wonders, as per your international flight time depart from the hotel for the airport for your international flight back to home countries or other respective destinations.
