Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Tanzania
- You land at Kilimanjaro International Airport, greeted by warm African air and -- the anticipation of the journey ahead.
- Transfer to your hotel in Moshi, where you meet fellow trekkers and your experienced guide.
- Rest up, knowing that tomorrow begins the ascent.
Day 2: Lemosho Gate to Big Tree Camp
- After breakfast, drive to the Lemosho Gate (2,100 meters).
- Register, meet your porters, and start hiking through lush rainforest.
- Reach Big Tree Camp (2,650 meters) and settle into your tent, surrounded by towering trees and the sounds of nature.
Day 3: Big Tree Camp to Shira 1 Camp
- Continue through the forest, spotting colobus monkeys and exotic birds.
- Emerge into the heather zone, with expansive views of the Shira Plateau.
- Arrive at Shira 1 Camp (3,505 meters), where the landscape opens up, revealing the vastness of Kilimanjaro.
Day 4: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
- Trek across the Shira Plateau, a high-altitude desert.
- Marvel at the otherworldly rock formations and volcanic remnants.
- Reach Shira 2 Camp (3,900 meters), where the stars seem closer than ever.
Day 5: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp
- Descend to Barranco Valley, passing the Lava Tower (4,600 meters).
- The air thins, but your body adapts.
- Barranco Camp (3,950 meters) awaits, nestled beneath the imposing Barranco Wall.
Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
- Conquer the Barranco Wall, a thrilling scramble.
- Traverse the Karanga Valley, a stark yet beautiful landscape.
- Karanga Camp (4,035 meters) offers stunning sunset views of Kibo Peak.
Day 7: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
- Ascend to Barafu Camp (4,673 meters), your base for the summit push.
- Rest, hydrate, and mentally prepare for the challenging night ahead.
- The stars above seem brighter as you lie in your tent.
Day 8: Summit Night! Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Millennium Camp
- Wake up around midnight, layer up, and begin the ascent.
- Zigzag up the scree slopes, guided by headlamps.
- Reach Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters) at sunrise—the roof of Africa!
- Descend to Millennium Camp (3,950 meters) for a well-deserved rest.
Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
- Descend through lush rainforest, the air thick with oxygen.
- Celebrate your achievement with your team at Mweka Gate.
- Transfer back to Moshi, where hot showers and a comfortable bed await.
Day 10: Departure
- Bid farewell to Kilimanjaro, its glaciers, and the memories etched in your heart.
- Return home with a sense of accomplishment, knowing you’ve stood atop Africa’s highest peak.
