Itinerary
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Traverse the Barranco Valley, filled with unique geological formations.
Ascend the Karanga Valley, with stunning views of Kilimanjaro's glaciers.
Arrive at Karanga Camp, your resting point for the night.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp
Ascend to Barafu Camp, the base for your summit attempt.
Rest and prepare for the challenging summit push.
You'll have an early dinner and then attempt to get some rest before the summit bid.
Day 7: Summit Day - Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and descent to Mweka Camp
Begin the summit attempt in the early hours of the morning, usually around midnight.
Ascend steeply to Stella Point (5,739m/18,831ft), on the crater rim, and continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa.
After celebrating your achievement, begin your descent back to Barafu Camp for a short rest.
Continue down to Mweka Camp for your final night on the mountain.
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate
Descend through the lush rainforest, savoring your last moments on Kilimanjaro.
Arrive at Mweka Gate, where you'll receive your summit certificates and bid farewell to your guides and porters.
Transfer back to your hotel for a well-deserved rest and celebration.
Day 1: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp
Meet your guide and porters at your hotel and drive to Londorossi Gate for registration.
Begin your trek through lush rainforest, marveling at the diverse flora and fauna.
Reach Mti Mkubwa Camp, your first campsite, and settle in for the night.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp
Continue your ascent through the rainforest, gradually transitioning into the heath and moorland zone.
Enjoy panoramic views of the Shira Plateau as you reach Shira 1 Camp for overnight stay.
Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Trek across the expansive Shira Plateau, surrounded by stunning landscapes.
Arrive at Shira 2 Camp, where you'll spend the night and continue acclimatizing.
Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower
