Arrival at the Airport in Mendoza and transfer to the hotel. Get together with the mountain guide and other participants, mutual briefing of the exact itinerary of the upcoming days in a cosy atmosphere.

DAY 1: Mendoza (760m)

Transfer from Mendoza to Las Cuevas in private Shuttles, 2-3h. Last preparations for our climb (as for example collection of the permit). Dinner and overnight in Las Cuevas (flight to the basecamp this day if the conditions are good)

DAY 2: Mendoza – Las Cuevas (3151m)

Transfer to the entrance of the Horcones Valley Park and helicopter flight to the Basecamp Plaza Argentina (if not already yesterday).

DAY 3: Las Cuevas – Basecamp Plaza Argentina (4200m)

Today we are off! Ascent to Camp 1 (4877m) through a stunning landscape following the 360° route. After arriving we enjoy the first high camp and then return to basecamp for sleeping.

Ascent to the beginning of the polish glacier to Camp 3

DAY 9: Camp 2 Guanacos – Camp 3 (Polish Glacier) 5850m

Today we want to climb the summit. We have to get up very early and start our direct way crossing the polish glacier to the highest point of South America. The way includes snow, ice flanks up to 50° and an exciting rock chimney to climb, so variety is guaranteed. While Walking up we have a fantastic view. The last meters, we walk on a ridge and will meet the mountaineers, who did the ascent on the normal route. From the summit you will enjoy the view with the Andes, deserts and sometimes you can even see the pacific ocean too. After these stunning moments we descend on the normal route down to camp 2.

DAY 10: Camp 3 – SUMMIT (6962) – Camp 2 Guanacos

Today we will do a rapid descent to basecamp.

DAY 11: Camp 2 – Basecamp

When the weather is good, we want to fly out by a helicopter. While doing so, we have the possibility to enjoy the fantastic view on Aconcagua for the last time. After the flight, we ride back to Mendoza in a van. Once arrived, we can relax and celebrate our successful expedition together.

DAY 12: Basecamp – Penitentes – Mendoza

If you have changeable flights, it is possible to leave today, if a spare day is not needed.

Our expedition begins in Mendoza, Argentina. On your arrival to the international airport 
in Mendoza, an INKA Expeditions representative will be waiting for you. After receiving 
you, he will drive you to your Hotel and after you rest, a group meeting will follow and 
you will be introduced to your guides and team members.

We consider these two days spare days in case of bad weather. If we do not use them,

Mendoza

After breakfast we will go to get the entrance fee at the Aconcagua Park Office. Then 
after organizing your luggage, we will be transported with the guides to Inka’s office to 
meet the staff and finalize arrangements; pay the remaining balance, get the required 
vouchers. From the office, we will be driven along a picturesque road to the mountain. 
After 3 hours of travel, we arrive to Puente de Inca, where we will spend one night. In 
the afternoon, we prepare the equipment for transportation to the base camp by mules. 
This day is concluded with dinner and rest.

Mendoza / Puente de Inca – Altitude: 2700 m

Next day, we drive you to Horcones, Aconcagua Park Entrance, where we get our first 
view of the mountain. After permits are checked at the Ranger station we then head 
off to Confluencia, at 3390 m and once there, you will organize your personal gear, 
drink some tea and enjoy dinner.

Puente de Inca / Confluencia –Altitude: 3390 m.

We’ve included this day in order for you to acclimatize better and increase your 
chances to summit. We’ll trek for about 5 hours until we arrive to Plaza Francia 
Viewpoint where we can enjoy the impressive Aconcagua South Wall. This is one of the 
nicest points of the expedition and you will have a breathtaking first view of Aconcagua 
that you will never forget.

Trekking to Plaza Francia ViewPoint - Altitude: 4000 m.

We will begin our second approaching day trekking into Plaza de Mulas, the base camp 
for our expedition. Early in the morning we start our walk across "Playa Ancha" 
(meaning wide beach) it’s a deserted and always windy valley. We slowly gain altitude 
walking up to the Horcones Superior Valley. After 8-9 hours hiking across Playa Ancha 
and climbing up through a very steep path; "Cuesta Brava" (meaning Rugged Slope), 
we reach Plaza de Mulas, at 4300 m. By the end of the day most of us will feel the 
altitude.

Trekking to Plaza de Mulas - Altitude: 4300 m

The first day in Base Camp is always a rest day. This is a good opportunity to familiarize 
yourself with the Camp, take a shower and explore the area. We get together with the 
guides, do a medical checkup, reorganize and review the equipment, prepare the loads 
and organize food for transportation for the next day. This is the time to get to know the 
climbers from other parts of the world and to meet the people that work in the camps.

Rest day at Plaza de Mulas - Altitude: 4300 m.

The following morning we will carry some of our equipment and food to Camp 1, called 
"Plaza Canada". We keep our backpacks light and carry as little as possible in order to 
be able to gradually adapt to the altitude. During the load transportation to camp 1, we 
reach a level of 5050 m. It is very important to maintain the adaptation of our body to 
altitude, to achieve good acclimatization. Then we return to Plaza de Mulas.

Carry of equipment to Camp 1- Altitude: 5050 m

After the hard days of carrying and climbing, we rest and recover our energy at Base 
Camp. We want everyone to have the best possible chance to acclimatize and achieve

Rest day at Plaza de Mulas- Altitude:4300 m

After having breakfast we start our ascent to Camp 1. After walking 5-6 hours on easy 
terrain we arrive to Camp 1 (5050 mt). We meet with the supplies that we brought the 
day before, assemble the camp and then we divide load for following days of carry. We 
then rest and have dinner.

Ascent to Camp 1 “Plaza Canada”- Altitude: 5050 m

On this day, we move from Plaza Canada to Camp 2 named “Nido de Cóndores” at 
5550m. This is when we start enjoying the real beauty of high altitude, ascending more 
and more, surrounded by a spectacular view of the Andes. It is very important to control 
the adaptation of our body to altitude, and continue to monitor our acclimatization.

Ascent to Camp 2 “Nido de Condores” - Altitude: 5550 m

This day is dedicated to improving the acclimatization to altitude. The guide may 
propose different activities according to the condition of the group. We take the 
opportunity to rest and give our body more opportunities to acclimatize.

Acclimatization at Camp 2 - Altitude: 5550 m

Early in the morning, after breakfast and after disassembling our tents, we start ascending to Camp 3. Plaza Colera sits at the same altitude as the Berlin refuge, strategically 
situated for its altitude and cover from winds. From there, we have unforgettable views 
of the highest peaks of the Central Andes. We set up our last high altitude camp here. 
The Guide individually reviews each member of the group and gives his final recommendations. We also plan the final strategies for the last day of ascension to assure 
success in reaching the summit. We have dinner and rest.

Ascent to Camp 3 “Plaza Colera” –Altitude: 5970 m

The day begins at 5:00 am. This is the most demanding day of our expedition. We 
continue on the Normal Route up to Independence Refuge (6380 m). This is normally 
where we see the first sun rays of the day. We ascend the "Portezuelo del Viento" 
where we can experience strong winds, even on calm days. We pass by the superior 
part of the Western face and climb "La Canaleta", a 300 m channel that takes us to 
edge of the summit. From here we go through the Filo del Guanaco, which leads us to 
the summit. There we can directly observe under our feet the Southern Wall of the 
Aconcagua, considered one of the largest faces in the world. An indescribable feeling 
of satisfaction takes over as we reach the summit at 6962 m, where is waiting for us 
a 360° view and the experience of achievement that you only finally understand once 
you reach it. After sharing these moments of accomplishment and emotion with our 
expedition mates we then return to camp 3.

Day 10: Colera High Camp (6,000 m) – Plaza de Mulas Camp (4,300 m)

Our expedition starts in Mendoza, we will pick you up at your hotel with private transportation. After picking you up we will drive west for 3 hours until we reach Penitentes, here we will stay at the refuge at 3,194 masl.

Elevation: +2,448 m (746 masl to 3,194 masl)

Day 1: Mendoza (746 m) – Penitentes (3,194 m)

This day we will leave the refuge in Penitentes at 10 am, the bus transport will take us to the entrance of the Aconcagua National Park Control, at this point we will hand in the permits. We will continue hiking for 4 to 5 hours until we reach the Confluencia camp, here we will rest, eat and walk around the camp.

Lodging: Mountain tents 4 seasons.
Meals: Breakfast, box lunch and dinner
Estimated hiking time: 4 to 5 hours.

Day 2: Penitentes (3,194 m) – Parque Provincial Aconcagua – Confluencia Camp (3,400 m)

This day we will leave the Confluencia camp at 7 am, we will hike to Plaza de Mulas for 6 to 8 hours, it will be a long and strenuous day. At the Plaza de Mulas camp we will present the permits to the Aconcagua Provincial Park control.

Lodging: Mountain tents 4 seasons.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Elevation: +900 m (3,4000 masl to 4,300 masl)

Day 3: Confluencia Camp (3,400 m) – Plaza de Mulas Camp (4,300 m)

This day we will rest, have lunch and we can walk around the camp.  Also, you can take advantage of the rest and so you will go to the medical control that allows you to continue climbing the mountain, this medical test is mandatory for all mountaineers and authorizes you to continue on the mountain.

Lodging: Mountain tents.

Day 4: Rest day in Plaza de Mulas Camp (4,300 m)

We will continue our acclimatization process above 5,000 meters and our first objective will be Bonete Peak. It is an easy and short hike. This peak is an excellent viewpoint of the Aconcagua massif.

Meals: Breakfast, box lunch and dinner.
Estimated hiking time: 5 hours up and 3 hours down.
Elevation: +750 m (4,300 masl to 5,050 masl)

Day 5: Plaza de Mulas (4,300 m) – Cerro Bonete Summit (5,050 m) – Plaza de Mulas (4,300 m)

This day we will take food and equipment to high camp II at Nido de Cóndores. We will leave a deposit and descend to Plaza de Mulas to rest and recharge our energy.

Meals: Breakfast, box lunch and dinner.
Estimated hiking time: 6 hours up and 2 hours down.
Elevation: +1,250 m (4,300 masl to 5,550 masl)

Day 6: Plaza de Mulas Base Camp (4,300 m) – Nido de Cóndores (5,550) – Plaza de Mulas Base Camp

This day we will start climbing the mountain towards the summit, we will hike to our first high altitude camp: Nido de Condores. After 6 hours of hiking, we will reach the campsite, take some time to rest, eat and prepare for the next day.

Elevation: +1,250 m (4,300 masl to 5,550 masl)

Day 7: Plaza de Mulas Base Camp (4,300 m) – Nido de Cóndores (5,550 m)

We will climb to our last altitude camp and from Colera we will start the ascent to the summit. Sleeping at 6,000 meters will be important to adapt to the altitude.

Day 8: Nido de Cóndores (5,550 m) – Colera High Camp (6,000 m)

The most desired and demanding day of the expedition has come. We will climb the North Ridge up to the Independencia Refuge at 6,500 m. We will continue climbing through the Portezuelo del Viento, then we will take the path that climbs up La Canaleta and the Filo del Guanaco that leads us to the summit. The reward awaits us: a summit with a 360° view that dominates the entire horizon, the experience of overcoming is wonderful. We will take some time to rest, take pictures, hydrate or eat to get some energy. Finally we will descend to Colera High Camp.

Estimated climbing time: 8 hours up and 3 hours down.
Elevation: +962 m, -962m  (5,550 masl to 6,000 masl and return)

Day 9: Colera High Camp (6,000 m) – Aconcagua Summit (6,962 m) - Colera High Camp (6,000 m)

Last day in Aconcagua Provincial Park. A long hike will be waiting for us until we will arrive at the entrance and control point of the park, where the transport will be waiting for us to return to Penitentes. After picking up our luggage we will travel from Penitentes to Mendoza.

Meals: Breakfast.
Estimated climbing time: 7 hours down.
Transfer by car: 3 hours

Day 11: Plaza de Mulas Camp (4,300 m) - Penitentes (3,194 m) - Mendoza (746 m)

We have an extra day reserved in our itinerary to attempt to summit in case of bad conditions on the mountain.

During this day we start the approaching from Puente de Inca to Pampa de Leñas.
After a night in Puente de Inca, we are transported to the entrance of Aconcagua Park,
Punta de Vacas. On this day, we trek from 4 to 5 hours up to the camp Pampa de Leñas
(2950 m). This is where we meet up with our equipment and we assemble the
dormitory tents. After refreshment, we enjoy dinner.

DAY 03 Puente de Inca / Pampa de Leñas –Altitude: 2950 m.

In the early morning we prepare our equipment again to be transported by the mules
and we have a large breakfast. On this day, we advance towards an intermediate camp,
passing through the Quebrada de Vacas, for 6 to 7 hours where you see the Quebrada
de Relinchos Stream. This is where we will be able to see the first sight of the Western
Face of the Aconcagua. This place is named Casa de Piedras (3250 m) and it is where
we spend our last approaching night, from Base Camp. Again we assemble the
dormitory tents and then we have dinner.

DAY 04 Trekking to Casa de Piedra - Altitude: 3250 m.

This is the last day of approaching to Plaza Argentina (4190 m). We start trekking for
5 to 6 hours, going through the margins of the Relincho Stream and ascending the
steep slope of the same name, which takes us to Inferior Plaza Argentina. This is where
we will be able to see the last native vegetation before climbing towards the glaciers,
where Plaza Argentina is placed. At this camp, we meet up with our personal
equipment, the INKA Expeditions staff and the modern infrastructure domes that will
assure us a comfortable stay; we also start preparing for the ascension.

At Plaza de Argentina we rest and use the day for acclimatization. This is a good

prepare the loads, the fuel and food for transportation for the next day. This is the
moment to get to know the climbers from other parts of the world and to meet the

DAY 06 Rest day at Plaza Argentina - Altitude: 4200 m.

Keeping backpacks as light as possible we continue to take our supplies higher, this is
important to make acclimatization easier. During the load transportation to the high
camps, we reach a level of 5000m. This is a hard day, where we will be walking for 6
hours ascending on easy terrain. This is when we start enjoying the real beauty of high
altitude, ascending higher and higher, obtaining an spectacular view of the Quebrada
de Relinchos and the Horcones Valley. Then we return to Base Camp.

DAY 09 Ascent to Camp 1- Altitude: 4900 m.

We carry food and fuel to Camp 2 (5500m). This program helps us keep our backpac-
ks as light as possible and continue with our gradual acclimatization to altitude. During

the load transportation to high Camp 2, we reach a level of 5500m. Besides this effort,
it is very important to control our body adaptation to altitude and the evolution of our
acclimatization. Then we return to Camp 1, have dinner and rest.

DAY 10 Carry of equipment to Camp 2 - Altitude:5500 m.

We have breakfast and start the ascent from Camp 1 to Camp 2 (5500m). We meet
with the load that we brought two days before and assemble the camp before we load
division for carrying the following day. We then rest and have dinner.

DAY 12 Acclimatization at Camp 2 - Altitude: 5500 m.

After a very early breakfast, we start ascending for around
4 hs to camp 3, Plaza Canadá, strategically situated because for its altitude and cover from winds. 
From there, you can see unforgettable sights of the highest peaks of the Central Andes. The Guide individually
reviews each member of the group and gives his final recommendations. We also plan
the final strategies for the last day of ascension. We have dinner and rest.

DAY 13 Carry equipment to Camp 3 - Altitude: 5970 m.

The day begins at 5:00 am. This is the most demanding day of our expedition. We
continue on the Normal Route up to Independence Refuge (6380 m). This is normally
where we see the first sun rays of the day. We ascend the "Portezuelo del Viento"
where we can experience strong winds, even on calm days. We pass by the superior
part of the Western face and climb "La Canaleta", a 300 m channel that takes us to
edge of the summit. From here we go through the Filo del Guanaco, which leads us to
the summit. There we can directly observe under our feet the Southern Wall of the
Aconcagua. An indescribable feeling
of satisfaction takes over as we reach the summit at 6962 m, where is waiting for us
a 360° view and the experience of achievement that you only finally understand once
you reach it. After sharing these moments of accomplishment and emotion with our
expedition mates we then return to camp 3.

DAY 14 Summit day - Altitude: 6962 m.

We consider these two days spare days in case of bad weather. If we do not use them,
we can stay at Base Camp to rest and enjoy the mountain.

DAY 15 Reserve day

We descend to Plaza de Mulas, the biggest camp in all the Aconcagua Park. Our team
will be waiting for us with a special reception. From this base camp you’ll see a unique
sunset that makes the west face of Mt. Aconcagua look like it is on fire! We enjoy the
surroundings and later we have a celebration dinner.

DAY 17 Descent to Plaza de Mulas Base Camp- Altitude:4300 m.

We have breakfast and then start the descent from Plaza de Mulas to Puente de Inca
through the Horcones Valley. From there we have the graet view of the magnificent
South Wall of Mt. Aconcagua. In Puente de Inca there will be a private transport waiting
to take us to the hotel in Mendoza City.

Mendoza double or triple room – Meals: Breakfast, Lunch Box.

DAY 18 Return to Puente de Inca / Mendoza

Breakfast at the hotel. End of services.

DAY 19 Mendoza

Aconcagua 360° route

Our expedition begins in Mendoza, Argentina. On your arrival to the international airport 
in Mendoza, an INKA Expeditions representative will be waiting for you. After receiving 
you, he will drive you to your Hotel and after you rest, a group meeting will follow and 
you will be introduced to your guides and team members.

After breakfast we will go to get the entrance fee at the Aconcagua Park Office. Then 
after organizing your luggage, we will be transported with the guides to Inka’s office to 
meet the staff and finalize arrangements; pay the remaining balance, get the required 
vouchers. From the office, we will be driven along a picturesque road to the mountain. 
After 3 hours of travel, we arrive to Puente de Inca, where we spend one night. In the 
afternoon, we prepare the equipment for transportation to the base camp by mules. 
This day is concluded with dinner and rest.

Next day, we drive you to Horcones, Aconcagua Park Entrance, where we get our first 
view of the mountain. After permits are checked at the Ranger station we then head 
off to Confluencia, at 3390 m and once there, you will organize your personal gear, 
drink some tea and enjoy dinner.

Trekking to Plaza Francia Viewpoint - Altitude: 4000 m

We will begin our second approaching day trekking into Plaza de Mulas, the base camp 
for our expedition. Early in the morning we start our walk across "Playa Ancha" 
(meaning wide beach) it’s a deserted and always windy valley. We slowly gain altitude 
walking up to the Horcones Superior Valley. After 8-9 hours hiking across Playa Ancha 
and climbing up through a very steep path; "Cuesta Brava" (meaning Rugged Slope), 
we reach Plaza de Mulas, at 4300 m. By the end of the day most of us will feel the 
altitude.

We’ve included this climbing in order to acclimatize better, and give you more chances 
to summit. After breakfast we start the ascent to Mt Bonete's summit. From this 
mountain we´ll see the awesome Aconcagua west face, as well the huge Plaza de 
Mulas’ Base Camp. The surrounding landscape it’s amazing, you could admire the vast 
expanse of the Andes. Then we return to Plaza de Mulas.

Ascent to Mt. Bonete - Altitude:5000 m.

We’ll stay in Plaza de Mulas to rest from the climbing of Mt. Bonete. We will divide 
expedition loads to carry to the high camps (common gear, fuel and food). We double 
carry to keep pack weight down and help ensure good acclimatization.
