2-Day Bwindi Mountain Gorilla Trekking from Kigali

You will meet your driver/guide who will then drive you across the Ugandan border to the dense forest of Bwindi. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1994, being home to half of the remaining mountain gorillas. You will arrive in Bwindi in the late afternoon, and take part in a community walk where you'll meet Batwa people residing in the forest and their incredible ways of life.

On this day, you will wake up early and get ready to embark on a once in a lifetime adventure of trekking for gorillas in the impenetrable forest. It all starts with a briefing from trained and professional park rangers who introduce you to the do's and don'ts of gorilla trekking. These rules help to protect both the gorillas and the client from physical harm and diseases. After the briefing, you will be allocated a gorilla family to trek, depending on your fitness level. only 8 people are allocated a gorilla family at a time to avoid overcrowded encounters with the gentle mountain gorillas. The guided trek lasts from 2-6 hours depending on the location of the gorillas at that time, and you get to spend 1 hour with the gorillas once you finally find them. After the magical encounter, you will then walk back to the starting point where you will receive a gorilla trekking certificate for your great achievement. Enjoy your packed lunch and transfer back to Kigali or Entebbe.
