Mount Kenya climb is a technical climb, challenging yet very enjoyable. You need previous technical climbing experience to successfully climb Mount Kenya, one of Africa’s best peaks. Its highest peak is at 4985 meters , and it is named Point Lenana.
Best views are at the top. When the weather permits, you can get the best views of the volcanic massif and the two main peaks of Batian and Nelion, as well as long views over the central plains of Kenya.
You will also see glaciers, rock spires, high tarns and unique flora and fauna such as the giant groundsels and the odd looking rock hyrax which is believed to have evolved from the elephant.
Several routes can take you to the top of Mount Kenya, but we recommend you take the famous Naro Moru route.
The Naro Moru route is the shortest and steepest route on Mt Kenya, the route is also very popular and receives high population of climbers the steepness and direct approach to the peak makes it more challenging to acclimatize it is however safe and guarantees a successful ascent and descent.
Though not particularly scenic but has some of the best tourist accommodations. Some of the challenges include the vertical and loose gravel while going up.
