Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a shorter trip catering to time-pressed travelers. if you would like to maximize your adventure. Join Alpine Club of Himalaya’s trekking expedition to Annapurna I, the 10th highest mountain in the world at 8,091m (26,545 ft) above sea level. Apart from the Annapurna 1, the Annapurna massif includes thirteen peaks over 7,000 meters and sixteen more over 6,000 meters. Our journey begins in Pokhara, widely known as ‘Lake City.’ From there, we will be greeted with magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, and Annapurna. As we continue, we will encounter cascading waterfalls, beautiful villages, and terraced farmlands. Furthermore, we will traverse lush rhododendron forests and, ultimately, be surrounded by amazing mountains.
Itinerary
Day 3: Ghandruk to Chhomrong (2,170m/7,120ft): 5–6 hours
We climb uphill for about an hour to Kimrung Danda, enjoying great views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail Mountain (Machhapuchhre), and Gangapurna. Then, we take a steep descent to the Kimrong Khola. After another steep ascent from Kimrong Khola to Chere Danda, we descend for a while, and then it’s a gentle walk to Chhomrong, a beautiful village located at the foot of the giant Annapurna.

Day 4: Chhomrong to Bamboo (2,310m/7,578ft): 4–5 hours
We descend 2,500 stone steps and cross the bridge above Chhomrong Khola. From here, there is an uphill climb to Sinuwa. Next, we pass through a beautiful forest to Kuldihar, followed by an easy downhill walk to Bamboo.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)
You will be welcomed by an amazing view of the Himalayas as you approach Kathmandu. At the airport, a representative from the Alpine Club of Himalaya will greet you. In the evening, you will be served excellent authentic Nepalese cuisine, introducing you to the country’s food and culture.

Day 2: Fly to Pokhara (823m/2,700ft)
30-minute flight, trek to Ghandruk (1,940m/6,360ft): 5–6 hours
We take a flight to Pokhara; the right side of the plane offers the best views of the Himalayas. Representatives from the Alpine Club of Himalaya will pick you up at the Pokhara airport. Then, we take a 1-hour and 20-minute drive to Nayapul (new bridge) on the main road near Birethanti and begin our trek. From Birethanti, we trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful village mostly inhabited by the Gurung community. If time permits, you can visit the Gurung Museum.

Day 5: Bamboo to Deurali (3,230m/10,595ft): 3–4 hours
We trek through a damp and cold bamboo forest, then ascend steadily through several steep sections. Upon reaching Himalaya Hotel, the forest opens up to the sun with an astounding view of the glacial river below. Then we take a steep climb through a much drier forest before reaching Hinku Cave, where the trail drops closer to the river before climbing again to Deurali, the most scenic stretch of the day. The vegetation becomes sparser, allowing magical views of the valley, the river below, and the sheer rock-face cliffs above with bands of wispy waterfalls.

Day 6: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m): 5–6 hours
We climb gently through a riverbed, then over a steep trail on the mountainside, followed by a somewhat strenuous hike from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp. From the base camp, we get excellent views of the majestic Machhapuchhre, along with Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli, and Gangapurna. The vegetation becomes scarce thereafter, and the path widens as we enter the Annapurna Sanctuary. From here, we enjoy sensational views of the near-vertical south face of Annapurna towering above us. The sanctuary boasts a dynamic view without anything impeding the 360-degree panorama. From the base camp, we can again savor mesmerizing views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Hiunchuli, and other peaks.

Day 7: Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,545ft) to Bamboo (2,350m/7,700ft)
Wake up before dawn and enjoy the majestic view of the sunrise turning the white snow-capped peaks into an array of colors. After soaking in the views of Machhapuchhre, Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Gandharvachuli, and Gangapurna, retrace your steps back to Bamboo. Along the way, cross lush sections of woodland and various settlements. As you progress, the landscape changes from alpine terrain to subtropical woodlands. Upon reaching Bamboo, relax and rest while soaking in the views of the region.

Day 8: Bamboo to Jhinu Danda (1,760m/5,770ft): 5–6 hours
From Bamboo, there is an uphill trek to Kuldighar, followed by a downhill walk to Chhomrong Khola. Then we climb the stone steps to Chhomrong. The trail then descends to Jhinu Danda, where we will be resting for the night. You can also take a 15-20 minute walk downhill to enjoy the hot springs.

Day 9: Trek to Nayapul then drive to Pokhara: 6 hours trek, 1-hour drive
We trek from Jhinu Danda to Nayapul while enjoying the amazing hill landscape of western Nepal. From Nayapul, we drive to Pokhara. Overnight in Pokhara. If the road construction connecting Jhinu Danda to Nayapul is complete, we can skip the trek and drive from Jhinu Danda to Pokhara.

Day 10: Fly to Kathmandu
We fly back to Kathmandu in the afternoon. In Kathmandu, you may spend the day exploring more of the city or shopping for souvenirs, lovely pashminas, or intricate artwork. There will be a farewell dinner in the evening.

Day 11: Final Departure: Home Sweet Home
Today you will be leaving for your destination country. Representatives from the Alpine Club of Himalaya will transport you to the airport three hours before your flight. Bid farewell to Nepal and your newly made friends.
