Itinerary
Day-4 Trek to Khopra Danda
On this day, we are trekking to the final destination. We will have a delicious breakfast and leave for Khopra Ridge. We have a steady uphill trek. Then, the trail takes us above the tree line through alpine pastures. And continuous trek takes us to Khopra. On the way, you might see the Himalayan tahr and our national bird, Danphe. After Khopra, we have a short walk to Khopra Ridge overlooking the Kali Gandaki River far below.
On reaching Khopra Ridge, you cannot explain the beauty of the place. You get stunning views of the mountain panorama. Additionally, the Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri range, Nilgiri, and Bharasikhar are visible at close distances. We have a sunset view of these beautiful mountains. Overnight at Khopra.
Day-1 Drive from Pokhara to Ghandruk and trek to Tadapani
Today begins with a short drive from Pokhara to Ghandruk, offering scenic views along the way. Passing through Dhampus Phedi, Naudanda, Kande, Lumle, and Nayapul, you'll enjoy glimpses of majestic mountains and picturesque landscapes. After about a 2-hour journey, we arrive at Ghandruk, a charming Gurung village and the starting point of our Khopra Trek.
From Ghandruk, our trek follows the path of the Annapurna Base Camp route. We traverse dense rhododendrons and oak forests, serenaded by the melodies of birds. En route, you'll be treated to sights of cascading waterfalls and stunning mountain vistas. Crossing a small pass brings us to Tadapani, where breathtaking views of towering peaks await. Tonight, we'll rest and rejuvenate in Tadapani before continuing our adventure tomorrow.
Day-2 Tadapani to Dobato
Today, we will be leaving Tadapani as well as the Annapurna Base Camp trekking trail. Our trail enters a remote area of the Annapurna region. Where we get to appreciate the diverse flora and fauna of the region. We continue walking through the rhododendron forest and come across. You buffalo pastures. You get to see buffaloes, sheep, and goats grazing on the way. And with easily ascended hills, we go through the rhododendron forest again. Finally, around 5 hours' walk with incredible scenery, traditional villages we reach Dobato. Overnight at Dobato.
Day-3 Dobato to Chistibung
Starting from Dobato, we embark on an early morning uphill trek to Muldai View Point, a short half-hour ascent. At the viewpoint, we are greeted by a breathtaking sunrise casting its glow over the towering Himalayan peaks. It's an unparalleled spot to soak in the panoramic vista of the surrounding mountain ranges. After relishing this awe-inspiring moment, we return to Dobato.
Following breakfast in Dobato, our journey continues towards Chistibung. The trail undulates through lush rhododendron forests, offering intermittent uphill and downhill stretches. Along the way, we pass through Bayli Kharka, a picturesque pasture where the impressive Dhaulagiri range looms large in the distance. Progressing onward, we arrive first at Lower Chistibung, then ascend through dense forest to reach Upper Chistibung, a temporary settlement used by herders. Tonight, we rest in Chistibung, surrounded by the tranquility of the mountains.
Day-5 Explore Khopra Danda
Today begins early with a spectacular sunrise over Mt. Dhaulagiri, capturing the first rays of sunlight. Following this awe-inspiring start, we embark on a challenging trek towards Khayar Lake, a sacred Hindu site known for its spiritual significance and stunning Himalayan vistas. The journey takes us up steep slopes of the Annapurna massif, offering breathtaking mountain scenery including views of Fang and the south face of Mt. Annapurna mirrored in the lake's serene waters. Khayar Lake itself is nestled in a steep valley, where Hindu devotees offer garlands to a statue of Shiva, believing that bathing here leads to spiritual enlightenment. After absorbing the beauty and tranquility of this sacred place, we return along the same trail to Khopra Ridge for an overnight stay, carrying with us unforgettable memories of the day's journey.
Day-6 Khopra Danda to Swanta Village
After breakfast in Khopra, we head toward Swanta village. Before leaving, we will look over the surroundings and for the memories. From Khopra, we descend off the hillside and continue downhill on a steep trail. Then we cross the dense forest until we reach Ratmate. After Ratmate, we cross a small wooden bridge. Following the trail, with some ups and downs, we ascend through a bamboo forest. And finally, reach the Swanta village. Swanta is another beautiful village of Magar inhabitants. Overnight at Swanta village.
Day-7 Swanta to Ulleri
As we begin our trek from Swanta, our trail descends through the village field. And reach a small river where you have a quick look at the local watermill. Then we cross the suspension bridge and move upward to the Chhetri village. It was an easy trail with fewer ups and downs. On the way, we get to enjoy walking in the aroma of rhododendron. And we finally reach today's stopover, Ulleri. Overnight at Ulleri.
Day-8 Drive from Ulleri to Pokhara
From Ulleri, we have a scenic drive to Pokhara. Enjoying the amazing hill landscape of the western, we reach the beautiful city of Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara.
